Rooster, a handsome 2-year-old Australian Shepherd who is ready to find a loving forever home! At 50 pounds, Rooster is the perfect mix of Loyal companion, backyard buddy, and easygoing BEST friend. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, so he is all set for his next chapter.

Rooster's initial foster home where he thrived for the first month, he lives with his foster dad and three sons, ages 18, 17, and 14. He has been friendly with everyone in the home and has shown what a wonderful house dog he is. He has no destructive behavior, knows how to use the dog door, and enjoys spending long stretches relaxing out in the yard or sitting on the front porch with the resident dog.

This sweet boy has a Calm, Loving nature and truly enjoys being near his people. When his foster dad is sitting down, Rooster is happy to nap right in the same room. He also loves the company of the resident dogs and enjoys playing chase with them in the backyard. Whether he is lounging by his person, resting near one of his dog friends, or enjoying a little outdoor time, Rooster is simply happiest being part of the family!

Rooster has Wonderful Manners! He walks well on a leash, does not jump on people, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is both crate and house trained, making him an easy addition to a home. He even thinks crate time is better when there is a treat waiting for him inside! Sometimes, if he has already settled down in the bedroom, his foster lets him sleep there too—and he is always a very good boy.

Rooster will bark when he sees a stranger, but he does not bark at the neighbors or the postal carrier. He seems to have a nice balance of being alert while also being Calm and Well-Mannered. With his Loyal nature, Gentle Personality, and Easygoing Temperament, Rooster would likely do well with many different types of families. He is being fostered in Philadelphia and is ready to find a forever home! His adoption fee is $450.
