Hi, I’m Benedict! I’m a 7-month-old male Australian Shepherd, weighing about 18 pounds, and I’m a sweet, sensitive boy who’s come a long way in a short time. I went from a hoarding situation to a high kill shelter in Texas with my sibling, and at first the world felt pretty overwhelming. I was shy, hid when I felt unsure, and just needed a little time to learn that I was safe.

The good news? It only took a few days after arriving at the rescue for my personality to shine through. Once I settled in, I discovered how much I love playtime with other dogs, treats, toys, and especially my favorite thing — a ball. I get so excited when I see my people coming and am always ready for some fun or affection.

I do best when I can build a strong bond with my person and would thrive in a home where I get plenty of one-on-one time, consistency, and love. I connect deeply once I trust you and really enjoy being part of a routine. With that, I truly think I’d do well in just about any home that’s patient and kind. I can be cat tested upon request.

I will come neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful young pup who’s ready to keep building confidence and love with his forever family, I might be your guy.
