Australian Shepherd and Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Isla Icon, a 2-and-a-half-month-old Aussie/Terrier mix, weighing 9 pounds (as of 3/5/26). This embodiment of a Hershey's Chocolate bar and her sister, Iris, were surrendered due to their owner not being able to take care of them. But you know who will take care of them? Hopefully you!

Get ready to be famous with Isla by your side! She is a very happy and outgoing girl who is not afraid of strangers which is great because she can pull you out of your comfort zone! She is very curious and is ready for any adventure. In fact, she laughs in the face of danger because she has no fear! Not only is she great with people, Isla gets along with other dogs, kids and while she hasn't met cats yet, she hopes she can win them over too. Isla loves a challenge!

Since she's still young, she'll need some help with puppy training (leashing, crates, obedience, etc) but with her breed mix, she should be able to catch on quite easily. She's not housebroke yet, but does well with a doggy door so hopefully you have one!

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
