Australian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption
MEKO
Australian Shepherd, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
February 8th
female, small, young
DESCRIPTION
Meko is a 7 months old puppy and 15 lbs. Mom is a small breed mix and dad is unknown.
She's a little nervous at first but her personality comes out once she gets settled. She's pretty laid back for her age as her sister was the more outgoing and dominant one.
She looks like mini Aussie mixes but we're not really sure. Could be a long hair Dachshund mixe or long hair Chihuahua mix. She has some nice shiny thick and wavy hair.

ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG BREED
The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
