Meet Maisey!

Maisey somehow ended up on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Houston, but her story was far from over. Minutes before her deadline, a wonderful foster mom stepped up to save her life, and now she is thriving and ready for her forever family.

Maisey is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets. With her likely herding-breed mix (we think she may have some Australian Shepherd or Heeler in her), she has that joyful, bouncy energy that makes life more fun. You’ll often find her hopping through the grass chasing a ball or happily handing out kisses to anyone willing to accept them.

Because of her unknown past, some new things can still be a little confusing like the terrifying mystery of the garbage disposal, but she’s learning quickly and gaining confidence every day. She does great with kids, though she can get a bit enthusiastic with her greetings, so she may be best with sturdy little ones who won’t mind the occasional happy bounce.

Maisey loves other dogs just as much as she loves people. She regularly attends doggy daycare, where she enjoys plenty of playtime and socialization. In fact, she would likely love a playful dog sibling in her forever home.

She’s fully potty trained and makes a wonderful walking companion who’s always excited to explore the world with you. Maisey already knows how to sit and is incredibly smart she’s always making eye contact, eager to learn and please her people especially for a treat. With a little continued training and structure, she’ll shine. Like many curious pups, she’s been known to investigate countertops for snacks, but she’s very responsive and ready to learn better habits.

Whether you’re looking for a hiking partner, a road trip co-pilot, or a cuddle buddy at the end of a long day, Maisey is your girl. As long as she’s loved, exercised, and included in your life, she’ll be the happiest dog in the world.

Maisey is fully vetted, spayed, heartworm negative, and her beautiful coat is just as stunning in person (cute eyebrows, speckled paws, and white dipped tail...stop it so cute!!). While she resembles an Australian Shepherd mix, one thing we know for sure is that this rescue dog is simply perfect.

Maisey is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, but she is available for adoption across the country. Her $600 adoption fee includes the cost of transport.
