This precious little girl, estimated to be around two years old and weighing in at a perfect 37 pounds, is the definition of a gentle soul. Darla somehow ended up on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Houston, but her story was far from over. Minutes before her deadline, a wonderful foster mom stepped up to save her life, and now she is thriving and ready for her forever family.

Darla is an absolute sweetheart who will effortlessly fit into almost any lifestyle. She is incredibly chill and happy to spend her days sunbathing in the grass or curling up for a cuddle session on the couch. Though her past has left her a little shy at first, she warms up quickly to everyone she meets and shows her true nature as the sweetest little angel. Not only does she love people but she would love a calm fur sibling in her forever home. If you are a first time pet owner or past the point of wanting a project dog, Darla is your gal.

She is completely potty trained and an excellent walking companion who is happy to explore at a nice pace on a leash. Whether you're looking for a hiking partner, a road trip buddy, or just a lounge-on-the-couch companion, Darla is in! As long as she is loved and included as a part of your life, she is happy. She is fully vetted, spayed, heartworm negative, and her coat, which had patches from a past flea infestation, is growing back in beautifully thanks to proper care. While we think she looks a little like a Kelpie mix, all we know for sure is that this rescue dog is perfect.
