Hi there! My name is Donner, and I’m about three years old. I’m an Australian Cattle Dog, which means I’m smart, loyal, and full of energy. My life didn’t start out very easy — I was found starving at a boat dock until a kind Good Samaritan stepped in and helped me get to a rescue. Thanks to them, I’m now healthy, well-fed, and ready to start a brand new chapter with a family of my own.

Because I’m a cattle dog, I’m looking for a home that understands active, working breeds. I thrive when I have things to do and enjoy staying busy. Hiking, exploring, learning new things, or having a job around the house would make me very happy. I’m the kind of dog who loves to be part of the action and would do great with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle.

I’m crate trained and actually enjoy my crate — it’s my cozy place for naps and downtime. After a good day of activity, you might even find me relaxing on the couch. I’m also working on potty training. Since I likely spent most of my early life outdoors, I’m still learning house manners and doing my best to figure things out.

There are a few important things to know about me. Cats aren’t a good match for me because I like to chase them. I can be selective with other dogs and don’t do well with dominant male dogs, so proper introductions are important. Because I’m energetic and a bit intense at times, I would likely do best in a home without small children.

What I promise in return is loyalty, personality, and a best friend who will be right by your side for every adventure. If you’re looking for a smart, active companion who just needed a second chance, I might be the perfect dog for you.
