DESCRIPTION
Meet Ruger 2 🐾
Ruger 2 is a 2-year-old sweetheart who’s finally getting a second chance at life. For his entire life, he lived outside on a chain, with very little opportunity to experience the comfort and security every dog deserves. Despite that, Ruger’s heart remains gentle and kind.
After his original owner passed away, Ruger was taken in without proper permission and sadly experienced a traumatic dog attack in that home. Through no fault of his own, he’s endured more than most dogs ever should. Thankfully, with the proper approval from Animal Control, Ruger and the other dog from the property were safely brought into rescue.
What stands out most about Ruger is that he is not reactive — even in kennel environments or around other dogs. He doesn’t lash out. He doesn’t cause trouble. He’s simply scared. The world is very new and overwhelming to him, and he’s still learning that he’s safe.
Ruger needs a calm, patient foster home — a quiet place where he can decompress, feel secure, and begin to trust at his own pace. He doesn’t need much: just consistency, kindness, and someone willing to show him that life can be soft and safe.
With time and understanding, Ruger has all the potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. He’s survived so much already. Now he just needs someone to help him finally live. ❤️
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG BLUE HEELER DOG BREED
The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
