Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler Dogs Available for Adoption

HONEY

Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler
🇺🇸
Irving, Texas
February 19th
female, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

We believe Honey is an Australian Sheperd mix. She is about 3 years old.

Honey was rescued from a Dollar General Store parking lot September 2025 when she was pregnant. She had six puppies and they have all been adopted. Now she needs our help to find her a place to go until she gets adopted.

Honey is a very shy and timid girl. She will slink away from new people, and it takes a while to get her to trust them. When her current foster mom tries to walk her, she sinks to the ground and shakes. Her foster mom says she has a goofy side that comes out when she gets to know you and trust you.

There are two issues which are causing the foster parents to need to find a new place for her. First, she growls at small children when they come close to her (she has never tried to attack them she just lets them know she doesn't want them to come close) and they live next door to their nieces and nephews. They believe a small child must have hurt her before. She is okay with older kids (tweens and up). The second issue is the foster mom has a Great Dane that hates her and they have to keep them separate all the time. This is getting very difficult for them. The foster parents work full time jobs and have two other dogs, so they are having a difficult time working with her as much as they would like.

Honey needs someone with lots of patience to help her get over being afraid of people and walking on a leash so she can have a full life.

If you are that person, please go to www.chloespetrescue.org/application and complete an application to become her "furever" family or foster parent.
