Meet Gracie!!
Gracie came from a high-intake shelter in Houston, where she was placed on the euthanasia list simply because she was so scared. She would shake constantly and didn’t know how to handle the stress of the shelter environment. Thankfully, a foster stepped in just in time and gave her the chance she deserved.
Now that she’s safe, we’re getting to know who Gracie really is and she’s a very gentle, loving gal.
Gracie is about a year old and weighs 33 pounds. She has a naturally calm personality, especially for a young cattle dog. She’s still building confidence, so she can be a little cautious at first, but she warms up quickly. Once she does, she’s very affectionate in a quiet way, she loves being close and will happily rest her head on you. True to her cattle dog roots she is loyal as they come and will be following you everywhere in no time.
She gets along well with all other dogs she has met, but doesn’t rely on them and would also do fine as an only dog. She walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and is fully potty trained. She’s crate trained but doesn’t really need to be crated, as she’s respectful in the foster's home.
Gracie would do best with someone patient who can give her a calm, stable environment and let her continue to come out of her shell at her own pace. She doesn’t need a lot just consistency, kindness, and a little time to settle in.
She’s currently being fostered in Houston, Texas, and is available for adoption in many areas. Her $600 adoption fee includes transport.
