DESCRIPTION

Meet Skye – your future shadow, sidekick, and smartest girl in the room!

At just 5 months old, Skye is already showing all the wonderful traits of her cattle dog roots. She is highly intelligent, eager to learn, and incredibly trainable. This girl picks things up quickly and truly enjoys working with her person. If you’re looking for a pup who will thrive with training, enrichment, and partnership, Skye is your match!

Skye is also a total lovebug. She’s a classic “velcro dog” who bonds deeply with her person and wants to be wherever you are. At bedtime, she happily sleeps through the night and would love nothing more than to curl up right next to you until morning.

She’s good with cats and shows zero prey drive towards them. Like many puppies, she can be a little enthusiastic and tries to play, which can be a bit annoying to feline friends. When cats get tired of her antics, they let her know with a swat, and she respects that. With continued guidance and maturity, she’s expected to do just fine in a cat-savvy home.

Skye does well in her crate. She may need a gentle nudge to go in, but once settled, she is quiet, calm, and well-behaved. She keeps her crate clean and has had no accidents, aside from one tummy-trouble incident. She is partially potty trained and is already communicating when she needs to go out by pacing, softly whining, or standing near the door and staring. She’ll need an attentive family to help her continue building consistency, as she’s still learning to hold it for longer periods.

Skye would thrive with an active, engaged home that appreciates a smart, affectionate, loyal companion. With continued structure and love, she is going to grow into an exceptional partner.

If you’re ready for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through it all, Skye is waiting to meet you!

Skye's adoption fee is $800 - please see below for more details.

If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il
We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!

Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.

When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!

Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900

With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed.

We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
