Moxie is a 10-month-old Australian Cattle Dog and Rat Terrier mix weighing in at about 28 pounds, and her name couldn’t be more fitting. She is full of spirit, resilience, and a quiet strength that makes her truly special.
Moxie’s journey hasn’t been a straight line. She was once adopted and thought she had found her forever home, but through no fault of her own, she was returned when her previous owner lost their home. Despite that upheaval, Moxie has shown just how adaptable and loving she is. She has settled back into foster life beautifully and continues to show everyone around her what a wonderful companion she can be.
She is a medium-energy level dog who strikes a great balance between play and relaxation. Moxie absolutely loves playing with other dogs and thrives in the company of her foster siblings. Whether it’s running around the yard or engaging in playful antics, she brings a joyful energy to every interaction.
Moxie is also well-mannered and ready for home life. She is leash trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to a family. She enjoys going on walks and exploring the world, but she’s just as happy being off-leash in a safe space, running and playing freely.
As the day winds down, Moxie shows her softer side. Her playful energy melts into a calm, affectionate nature, and she becomes a true cuddle companion. She loves being close to her people and soaking up attention, making her just as perfect for quiet evenings as she is for active days.
What makes Moxie especially unique is her resilience. Despite the changes she has experienced, she continues to trust, love, and embrace life with an open heart. She is the kind of dog who forms strong bonds and will be deeply loyal to her person or family.
Moxie would do wonderfully in a home where she can have both companionship and playtime—whether that’s with other dogs or an active owner who enjoys walks and outdoor time. She is still young, eager to learn, and ready to continue growing into an incredible lifelong companion.
If you are looking for a dog who brings together playfulness, affection, and a truly inspiring spirit, Moxie may be the perfect match.
She’s ready to start her next chapter—this time, hopefully, forever.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
