DESCRIPTION
Introducing the one and only Pecas! This beautiful lady is 7 years old and she currently weighs about 53lbs. “Meet Pecas, a very loving, good girl in search of a person or family of her own! Pecas means freckles in Spanish and she has the cutest freckles on her snout. She also has beautiful blue eyes. She is 7 years old and weighs 53 lbs. She is very affectionate, leans in for pets, wags her tail at any attention, has met and interacted with kids, and loves to give kisses. She is potty trained, gets along well with other dogs and seems to enjoy their company, likes to play tug and tag, takes treats gently, and is not very vocal, only giving an occasional bark during play or at the deliveryman. She mostly walks well on a leash, with some pulling when she is excited. She has exhibited some prey drive around rabbits. She is calm in the house and in the car, and she settles down very well overnight. She is maybe a heeler / husky mix? She would make a wonderful companion for anyone with love to give. Please reach out if you’d like to meet her! Pecas’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations. A licensing fee may apply. Pecas is currently resting in foster. If you are interested in meeting with her, please email the New Hope department at newhope@sfhumanesociety.org
ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG BLUE HEELER DOG BREED
The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
