Additional info:
Meet Uma — a gentle soul with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right person to help her shine.
Uma’s story began in a quiet field in Mexico, where she and her sister were found alone, hungry, thirsty, and covered in fleas. Despite everything they had endured, Uma’s spirit was unbroken.

The moment she saw her rescuer, her tail began to wag, and she bounced with hope — as if she knew help had finally arrived. Even then, her trusting and loving nature was impossible to miss. When she was rescued, Uma was still just a puppy, under a year old. She was very thin, dirty, and had a few scars — small reminders of a difficult start to life. But with care, patience, and love, Uma has blossomed into the sweet and affectionate girl she is today.

Uma may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a bit of time and you’ll discover her true self — a loving, loyal companion who adores affection and being close to her humans. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with her foster siblings, especially when there are toys involved! Noisy toys and balls are her absolute favorite, and she lights up when it’s time to play. At home, Uma is well-behaved and eager to learn. She’s a smart girl who responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, especially when treats are involved. She understands boundaries and thrives with gentle guidance and consistency.

While Uma is generally calm and easygoing, she may feel a little unsure around loud or overly vocal dogs. With reassurance from her people, she quickly settles and regains her confidence. More than anything, Uma is motivated by love — she wants to be part of a family, to feel safe, and to give her whole heart in return. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly come up beside you, rest her head near you, and remind you just how special the bond between human and dog can be. Uma has come so far from her beginnings, and now she’s ready for her forever home — one filled with patience, kindness, and plenty of cuddles. Could you be the one to give Uma the happy ending she’s been waiting for?
