Meet Maelyn — a beautiful brindle and white Australian Cattle Dog mix who arrived at the shelter on March 21st. This gentle 5-year-old girl is already spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and heartworm negative, meaning she is healthy and ready for the fresh start she so deserves. At 42 pounds, she is the perfect size to curl up beside you at the end of a long day and remind you that the quiet things in life are often the most precious.
Maelyn knows sit and down and likely even more — proof that she has been loved and cared for before. She is house trained, good with cats, and wonderful with children, making her an ideal companion for the right home. She would thrive best as the only dog in the household, where she can have her people all to herself and truly blossom into the dog she is meant to be. For the family who can give her that, she will reward them with unwavering loyalty and love.
Maelyn is a shy and sensitive soul who simply needs patience and a calm, quiet environment to feel safe. She may take a little time to come out of her shell, but dogs like Maelyn — the ones who are gentle and still — often turn out to be the most devoted companions of all. The family who gives her the space and grace to trust again will be endlessly grateful they did.
If you are looking for a sweet, calm, and loyal girl who will love you with her whole heart once she knows she is safe, Maelyn is your dog. Come meet this precious girl in Kennel #59 — she may be quiet, but the love she has to give speaks volumes.
