Anatolian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

Ready to flow with this River through life? I’m River… a 48 pound, one year old Anatolian Shepherd mix — and I’m still growing! I’m a long, lanky, slightly derpy boy when I get excited, but most of the time I carry myself with the quiet dignity of a monk… mixed with the playful charm of your favorite goofy uncle. I’m currently working hard on my house, crate, and leash training. I’m a smart guy and I really want to learn — especially if snacks are involved (more on that in a second). I’m very skinny right now and need to gain weight, so good food and regular meals are important for me. I’m a little obsessed with food — I won’t guard it or get aggressive — but I’m still learning not to jump up to grab treats from your hands or counter surf. I’m pretty laid back and love to sleep (probably because I’m still filling out this tall frame of mine). Give me a soft rug, mat, or comfy blanket and I’m in heaven. Actually… I might grab the rug and parade around with it first. I just love them that much. I would really love a home where I can sleep in bed with my people, snuggled up warm and safe. I’m good with other dogs and older children. I play very gently with smaller dogs and tend to be submissive with bigger dogs. When I’m around my dog friends, I’ll happily join in for playtime. I’m not sure about cats yet, but I did see some at the clinic and didn’t react to them. Oh — and I like to talk. I have the cutest howl that might remind you of a Husky. I’ll chat with you about my day, sing you a little song, and then curl up beside you for kisses. I know my name and my heart lights up when you say it. What I really need is a family or individual who has time to spend with me someone who will give me love, patience, good meals, cozy blankets, and a place right beside them to rest my head. My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
