You know how pitties have a reputation for doing absolutely everything with 110% enthusiasm? The zoomies. The wiggle butts. The dramatic toy tossing. The full-body excitement because you looked at them.
Well... Angie apparently missed that meeting.
Instead, she decided she'd specialize in being the world's cutest little house hippo. Her hobbies include professional snuggling, world-class sunbathing, supervising absolutely nothing, and reminding you that sometimes the very best dogs are the ones perfectly content just hanging out by your side.
If you've always loved pitties but secretly wished they came with about 75% less chaos and 100% more couch cuddles... congratulations. You've found Angie.

This adorable house hippo is believed to be a pittie mix approximately 4 years young and currently weighs 56 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, its always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
What we do know is that Angie is the definition of a lovebug. She's got this short, stocky little body, the cutest blocky pittie head, soft shiny black coat, and the kind of face that makes you want to smooch her cheeks every single day. Her foster lovingly calls her a little house hippo, and honestly, we can't think of a more fitting description. She's chunky in all the best ways, built for comfort, and somehow manages to make snuggling look like an Olympic sport.
One of our favorite things about Angie is just how unbelievably easy she is to live with. Her foster works from home and says Angie has become the highlight of her day. She quietly hangs out nearby while she works, naps beside her desk, checks in every now and then for a little love, then happily wanders outside through the doggy door to soak up some sunshine before coming back inside once she's warm enough. It's a pretty adorable routine, and honestly... it's a pretty great way to spend a day if you ask Angie.
Speaking of routines... bedtime is serious business around here. Angie sleeps in bed with her foster on occasion and, according to her foster, she is an A+ snuggler. Not the kind that steals your pillow or sprawls across the whole mattress either. She's simply happiest curled up next to her person, snoozing the night away. And honestly, if you want a dog that will be the little spoon and looking for a dog that believes personal space is slightly overrated in the sweetest possible way, Angie would like to submit her application.
Kids? Angie absolutely has family dog written all over her. We can already picture her being the unofficial referee during backyard games, faithfully supervising family movie nights from the couch, and happily accepting hugs from the kids before tucking herself into the nearest blanket fort like she belongs there. She has spent time with children between ages 4-10 and was wonderful with them, especially the older kids who quickly became some of her favorite people. She loved curling up next to them, soaking up attention, and simply being included. Because younger toddlers can sometimes be a little loud, unpredictable, and overwhelming, we think she'd be happiest with kids around 6 years and older who can appreciate her calm, gentle personality. She's the kind of dog that fits beautifully into family life without making life feel busier.
When it comes to other dogs, Angie is refreshingly easygoing. She's not pesky. She's not constantly trying to start a wrestling match or convince everyone it's time to play. She's perfectly content sharing space with other mellow, respectful dogs and seems happiest with canine companions who appreciate the quieter side of life too. Think less "dog park social chairwoman" and more "I'll be over here enjoying the nice weather if anyone needs me." She'd likely do wonderfully with another calm dog (big or small), but she'd also be perfectly content soaking up every ounce of attention as your one and only. Cats, however, are a different story. Angie finds them far too interesting, so she'll need a kitty-free home.
Angie is also crate trained and has proven to be a wonderful houseguest. She can comfortably stay in her kennel for up to eight hours when needed and settles in beautifully. She's a quiet girl who doesn't feel the need to comment on every little thing happening around her. The only tiny disclaimer her foster wanted us to mention is that Angie occasionally believes shoes and magazines (and maybe some other novelties as well) were left out specifically for her entertainment. Fortunately, this is an easy habit to manage by simply keeping those tempting treasures picked up and kenneling her while you're away.
Whether you live in an apartment or a home with a backyard, Angie could happily fit into either lifestyle. She's not asking for marathon hikes or endless games of fetch. She'd much rather join you for a leisurely stroll, spend a little time sunbathing, supervise your workday, and then reward herself with a well-earned nap on the couch. At the end of the day, Angie is simply one of those dogs that makes life feel easier. She's sweet without being demanding, goofy without being wild, affectionate without being clingy, and so incredibly easy to love. The kind of dog that quietly becomes your favorite part of coming home. And if you ask her foster? She'd tell you that Angie has already become hers.
We are willing to test Angie with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
