DESCRIPTION
Tonka is a pure bundle of joy who truly loves everything life has to offer: toys, walks, treats, water, and especially his beloved people friends! He could even join a family with a well-matched canine companion after a meet & greet with shelter staff. One thing that sets Tonka apart is that he is deaf, which a volunteer noted is a huge asset! During his overnight stay, he "did so so good," adapting quickly to a new home and enjoying outings to sports bars and a friend's house. Being deaf helped him stay calm and stress-free in normally loud environments.Deaf dogs are trained using hand signals and visual cues with positive reinforcement, and they live just like hearing dogs! For safety, they should always be leashed outside a securely fenced yard. Adopting a deaf dog like Tonka is incredibly rewarding, and there are many resources available to help you.Tonka is well-behaved, quickly adapts, and is ready to shower his new family with unconditional love!
