DESCRIPTION
This poor girl has been with us for over a year now. Life has done her dirty and it is a small miracle that she has kept her sweet and playful attitude to her.
Lily came to us as a stray picked up by animal control. Somebody had brutally cut off her ears in a misguided attempt to make her look fiercer.
She was tested with dogs in the shelter and after passing the test she was sent to our prison training program where she was unfortunately overwhelmed and came back to us. Since then she has been with us without any interest. Not one of the most traditionally beautiful dogs but definitely one of the most beloved by staff and volunteers. She loves enrichment and playtime in the yard and isn't asking for much from us. She has been patient for so long but we are very worried about our sweet girl since she has been with us for so long and has not received much interest.
ABOUT: AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER DOG BREED
The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
