DESCRIPTION
Meet Iris! This incredible 5-year-old girl is a true survivor with the gentlest spirit and the biggest heart. Iris is friendly with everyone she meets-both people and dogs-and has blossomed into a healthy 40-pound girl who's ready for her forever home.
Iris is fully potty trained, sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate, and walks beautifully on a leash. She loves people, is obsessed with chewing on bones, and adores her Jack Russell foster brother along with all the dogs she meets on the street-no matter their size! She enjoys quiet time and feels safe in her crate. Iris would do best in a home without cats, as they're not really her thing.
Iris has overcome more than most dogs ever face. She was found wandering the streets weighing only 27 pounds-skin and bones-with clear signs she had been surviving on her own for quite some time and had endured multiple litters of puppies. Shortly after being rescued, she was diagnosed with tumors and TVT-a viral form of cancer that, once successfully treated, does not return. Iris completed surgery and chemotherapy and has been given a clean bill of health! Her weight is back, her coat is glowing, her scars are fading, and her personality is shining brighter than ever.
Iris has survived the unimaginable, but she doesn't carry bitterness-only love. She is gentle, resilient, and so deserving of a forever home where she will never have to fend for herself again. Could that be you?
