Draco, 2 years old, neutered male, Staffordshire Terrier/Pitbull mix, 42 pounds. He is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and able to transport once matched with an adopter.

Draco may look like a tough guy at first glance, but don’t let that fool you—this handsome boy is truly a big softie at heart. With his adorable heart-shaped nose, love for belly rubs, and goofy personality, Draco is the kind of dog who quickly steals hearts wherever he goes.

Draco has a wonderful balance of playful energy and relaxed charm. Around other dogs, he lights up and enjoys active play like wrestling, rolling around in the grass, and being delightfully silly with his friends. While he can get very energetic during playtime, Draco is equally happy to wind down afterward and spend most of the day relaxing nearby. He does a great job reading other dogs’ cues and understands when it’s time to stop playing.

He has done well with medium to large dogs (roughly 30–80 lbs) and meets new canine friends easily. On leash, Draco is generally easygoing and walks nicely, though he may let out an excited little whine if he spots another dog and wants to say hello. It’s all enthusiasm—he simply enjoys making friends!

In the home, Draco is a calm and well-mannered companion. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and he understands household routines well. He currently sleeps in his crate overnight and may spend short periods there during the day, where he settles in comfortably. When given space in his room, he mostly relaxes on his bed or gets up for a snack—no destructive habits here.

Draco has shown no signs of food or resource guarding and has even shared a bowl with other dogs without issue. He enjoys toys and treats and approaches everything with his easygoing nature.

Personality-wise, Draco checks all the boxes: affectionate, playful, curious, silly, and incredibly loving. He’s friendly with new people, enjoys car rides, and loves nothing more than curling up next to his humans for some quiet cuddle time. Sometimes when he wants extra affection, he’ll make the funniest little growly noise—but it’s purely his quirky way of asking for love.

One of Draco’s cutest habits? If you leave him outside on a sunny day, you might glance out the window and find him lying upside down in the grass, soaking up the sunshine like the happiest little sunbather.

Draco’s energy level is generally low when he’s on his own—he doesn’t demand constant activity—but he happily joins in when his people are doing something. Whether it’s a casual walk, hanging out around the house, or a playful moment with another dog, Draco is content simply being part of the family.

While he’s still learning some basic commands and may occasionally whine when left alone, he settles well once he feels comfortable. With continued positive reinforcement and a patient adopter, he will continue to thrive.

Draco’s ideal home is one where he can be included in everyday life and showered with the affection he loves so much. He would do well in a home with or without another dog, as long as he has people who enjoy spending time with him. He’d especially thrive with adopters who can balance fun, enrichment, and cozy downtime.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can be both your playful buddy and your couch-snuggling best friend, Draco might just be your perfect match. This sweet boy is ready to bring laughter, love, and plenty of belly rubs into his forever home. 🐾

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
