DESCRIPTION

Hi, I'm MoMo -- though I also answer to Mocha 🀎🐾
I'm a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier / Black Mouth Cur mix, weighing in at 52 pounds of solid muscle, enthusiasm, and affection. If you're looking for a loyal shadow with a big heart and even bigger personality, I might just be your guy. I'm incredibly affectionate and very much a Velcro dog -- I want to be where you are. Cuddling, hanging out, and being part of your daily life are my favorite things. I've got a gorgeous chocolate brown coat with a white patch on my chest, and I carry myself with confidence and charm. I've got energy to spare and absolutely love to run, play, explore, and smell everything (seriously -- every blade of grass has a story πŸŒΏπŸ‘ƒ). I take my squirrel and rodent patrol duties very seriously and usually stay pretty quiet, but I will alert if someone's around -- I'd make an excellent guard dog and a top-tier cuddle companion.

I do great with other dogs, though I prefer to be fed separately since I guard my food. Treats and snacks are the fastest way to my heart πŸ–, and I'm very food motivated. I know "sit," "manners" (to calm and settle), and "come on" for mealtime. With consistency, I can keep learning -- I'm a smart boy who wants to do right. I should mention a few important things so we're the best match. I'm very strong and can pull on leash, and I sometimes jump up to say hello when I'm excited. Because of that, I might not be the best fit for someone with balance concerns -- but with regular training and structure, this is something I can absolutely improve on. I'm fully house trained, crate trained, load easily into a vehicle, and ride great in the car πŸš—βœ¨.

Cats are interesting to me -- I love them, but if they run, I want to chase and play, sometimes a bit too enthusiastically. A slow, proper introduction would be important. Chickens, however... those are a no-go πŸ”βŒ. I've spent a few years of my life on a chain because my previous owners were older and had trouble handling my strength and energy. Despite that, I'm still full of love, trust, and joy -- I just need an active home that understands me and lets me be part of the family I've always wanted. If you're looking for a devoted, energetic, affectionate companion who will protect your home, follow you everywhere, and love you with his whole heart, I'm ready. πŸ–€πŸΆ You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.
