My name is Maya, and I’m still learning that the world can be gentle. I’m a three-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, and for a long time, just looking the way I do put me in danger. Loud noises and sudden movements still make me flinch, so I’d feel most comfortable with kids over five who understand how to move gently around me. What I want more than anything is a family who knows that trust isn’t instant—it’s built with patience, kindness, and the kind of love that doesn’t rush.

Once I feel safe, my heart opens wide. I dream of curling up beside someone who sees me for who I am, of learning what it feels like to belong, of discovering that home isn’t just a place but a feeling. I’ve carried a lot of uncertainty in my short life, but I haven’t lost my hope. I’m ready for the joy of my own family, and I’m ready to give all the love I’ve been saving.
