DESCRIPTION
WATCH MY VIDEO...Marvelous Maddie is a friendly girl who loves to be petted. She was adopted from our shelter back in May, and returned because her owner became ill and couldn't care for her. However, she did tell us what a wonderful companion she is. She calls her a sweetheart that approaches anyone and gives them kisses. She gets along very well with people, kids and other dogs, but they said she's just ok with cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. She would love to have a family that will take her for exploration walks, and just love her for the rest of her life! - Maddie had a chance to go on a Dog's Day Out with one of our wonderful volunteers a while back. They reported that she did really well! They went for a walk at TY Park and curious Maddie wanted to sniff all of the new smells she encountered. She was calm in the car and very sweet. She was also happy to give lots of kisses for her treats. Ms. Sharri said that she did not pull on her leash and was very gentle. She saw other dogs and ignored them. All in all, she had a GREAT day! We hope she can have a great day every day of the year with her new family soon. If she sounds like she might be a good fit for you, please fill out a pre-adoption application at humanebroward.com and come to the shelter to meet her. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL and opens daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, please call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
ABOUT: AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER DOG BREED
The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
