DESCRIPTION

***Sharonville Location***

Watson is in need of a friend. The kind of friend who will spend $100 to bail him out of the shelter, take him home to a fenced in yard, let him cuddle on the couch, take him for car rides, teach him some manners, and love him unconditionally as he learns how to be a dog.

Watson has had a very bad start in life. His luck changed when he was spotted by a compassionate individual who took him into her car and then to a vet to ask for help. She found him wandering the street in an unsafe area of town, emaciated, scared, and with part of a broken chain or tether still attached to his oversized collar. We don’t know the story behind his story, but we can only guess that someone got him as a puppy, invested very little time in training, supervision, or care, and resorted to tying him up permanently in a yard. So now Watson is living at our shelter and although he is safe and well fed (and now neutered, chipped, and vaccinated) it’s not a home. He desperately wants affection. He wants to learn how to be a good boy. He knows he can be a very good boy if someone will invest the time to work with him and reward him for his good behaviors.

Watson has a lot of potential and despite his past, he doesn’t hold any hostility towards humans. He sees everyone as a new friend and potential new home.

Like most young dogs, he barks, he chews, and he has accidents (although he’s getting the hang of house training), but he is treat-motivated to learn what is acceptable and what is not. It will just take some reinforcement.

Watson would do best in a home with a fenced yard and because of his rambunctious puppy nature, would probably be better in a home without small children or cats. It is unknown how he does with other dogs.

Watson is currently around 35 lbs and just over a year old. He’s got the adorable head tilt going for him because it’s irresistible when he does it. He’s learning his name. He’s learning to be house trained. He’s learning to slow down when he eats his meals. And he’s holding out hope he doesn’t have to spend the best years of his life in a shelter.

Please consider making an appointment to meet Watson at our Sharonville location and see if you could be his new best friend!

*Must be 21 or older to adopt
