Low rider, belly rub enthusiast, and your future personal shadow in the kitchen… this is Dobby. Equal parts sassy and soft, he is the kind of dog who makes people stop and smile before they even realize why. Maybe it is the squatty build. Maybe it is the expressive face. Maybe it is the general angelic squish. Whatever it is, it works.
Go see his personality in motion on YouTube then come right back, because this boy is something special! https://youtu.be/QuH8Un7Qrdw
Dobby can start off a little shy in new environments, but give him a little time and he turns into a confident, playful, full-of-life companion. We know this because he lives in a loving foster home. At home, he is all in. Playing with the other dogs in the home, chasing toys, zooming through the yard, and then immediately transitioning into full cuddle mode like it is his second job. His first job? Well, love and joy distributor might be the best title for his role. Let’s talk about his signature move… the belly-up invitation. Dobby is a certified belly rub collector and will happily sign you up for full-time duties if you are willing.
He has a playful, social style with other dogs and loves having friends to romp around with. His play can get a little enthusiastic at times, but it is all part of his joyful, goofy approach to life. He has also been around children ages 2, 8 and 10 and done well, making him a great fit for a family that is looking for both playful energy and big-time snuggles.
Dobby is potty trained, sleeps soundly in his crate, and has been learning his basic commands like sit and kennel. He is smart, food-motivated, and eager to engage. He also has a thoughtful side… his foster describes him as her “observer,” happily watching daily life unfold, whether that is cooking in the kitchen or getting ready for the day.
He would thrive in a home with a yard, plenty of playtime, and people who will both engage his playful side and keep him stocked with toys (very important, as boredom forces creative choices at his age). The good news is he redirects easily and responds well to guidance.
Dobby’s past wasn’t easy, but what stands out most is who he is now… resilient, affectionate, and ready to love deeply. He is the kind of dog who bonds closely and eagerly becomes part of your everyday rhythm in the best way.
If you are looking for a playful, loving, slightly sassy sidekick with a heart of gold, Dobby is ready to claim his spot right by your side, or even better in your lap.
Adopt Dobby today! A boy this good will not be available for long, trust us!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
