Hi, I’m Prancer. Yes, like the reindeer. I may not pull a sleigh, but I do take my role as a curious explorer and loyal companion seriously. I’m approximately 2 years old, neutered, fully vaccinated, and likely a Pit Bull–Chow/Akita mix. I’m expected to be around 70 pounds once fully grown.

My Story:

My journey has had a few twists. I was adopted as a puppy and later returned, then spent time in foster care before living at a sanctuary in Rosarito for about a year. That experience helped me learn how to live calmly with other dogs, follow routines, and feel comfortable in a structured environment. I’m now in foster care and continuing to make steady progress as I prepare for a forever home.

Dog-Friendly Companion:

I genuinely enjoy the company of other dogs. Confident canine companions help me feel secure, and I take cues from them very well.

Curious Explorer:

Sniffing is my favorite activity. Walks, yard time, and exploring my surroundings are where I feel most relaxed and engaged.

Smart and Trainable:

I’m fully potty trained, crate trained, and doing well with leash training. I thrive with clear expectations, structure, and consistency.

Balanced Energy:

I enjoy playtime and the occasional zoomie, but I also know how to settle. A home with a yard or a regular walking routine would be a great fit.

I do well in the car and enjoy tagging along for low-key adventures.

What I’m Still Learning:

I’m a thoughtful, observant dog who likes to take in my surroundings, especially in new or indoor environments. I can be curious about unfamiliar sounds or people at first and do best when I’m given a moment to settle and understand what’s going on. With calm guidance and clear expectations, I adjust well and continue to make progress.

I’m friendly by nature, and once I’ve had time to warm up, I’m comfortable and engaged. I’ve already built positive relationships with new people who approached me patiently and consistently.

My Ideal Home:

- Children ages 12 and up who can understand and respect boundaries

- One or more well-balanced dogs, which help boost my confidence

- A yard is a plus, but regular walks and enrichment matter just as much

I do best in homes where introductions are thoughtful rather than rushed, and where I can rely on my people to guide new situations. In the right environment, I settle in well and continue to grow into a confident, loyal companion.
