American Bulldog Dogs Available for Adoption in Des Moines, Iowa

- Big, handsome, incredibly silly boy who enjoys spending his days doing his favorite things, eating and sleeping

- Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress

- Knows sit and shake and loves learning with treats

- Loves going on walks and prefers them on the shorter side; walks best with a dual collar and harness

- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended)

- Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate, and can also be socially awkward; needs to be the only dog in his home right now

- Needs a home with no cats

- May have allergies (more info at ARL)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
