American Bulldog and Boxer Dogs Available for Adoption

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Roscoe Waffles, a 1.5 year-old American Bulldog/Boxer mix, weighing 42 pounds (as of 1/27/26)! This playful boy was found as a stray fending for himself in Tennessee, but hopes to live the comfortable and cozy life in New England with his fur-ever family!

Remarkable. Lovable. Cutie Patootie. All these words describe Roscoe Waffles. And what's not to love? This guy is super loyal and will always be there for his people. Whether you're a crying adult or a crying toddler, Roscoe loves them all and will never judge you! In fact, he'll even give you a tissue to wipe your tears as you cuddle up next to him because he cares.

When he's not listening to you complain about your job, Roscoe enjoys playing with other dogs and also tug with his humans. His foster shares "he is the cutest, most cuddly, cutie looking for someone to love him." He hopes that'll be you!

Roscoe Waffles is super proud of himself because he's been working with a trainer (as you can see in the videos) and is learning new commands everyday. Soon, he'll master so many, he'll eventually run your household and get your rowdy kids in shape! Not only is he smart and hard-working, Roscoe is crate trained, potty trained and does well with leashes! It's the perfect trifecta! His only flaw is he's not a fan of cats (no hard feelings, kitties!).

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
