Meet Ice – 75 pounds of fluff, love, and enthusiasm

Obsessed doesn’t even begin to cover it - we are absolutely smitten with Ice. This almost‑3‑year‑old, 75‑lb Malamute came to us after being surrendered to ACCT Philly when one of his owners sadly passed away and the remaining owner was no longer able to care for him. From the very first moment, Ice made it clear just how much he loves people, he was already handing out kisses before we even got him out of the car.

Ice’s previous owner described him as sweet and friendly with everyone, and he has proven that to be 100% true. He immediately leaned into us for hugs and pets and hasn’t looked back since. This big fluff is affectionate, social, and thrives on human connection.

Ice knows his name and the “sit” command, loves playing with toys, and has a surprising fondness for cucumbers. He previously spent most of his time in a backyard and wasn’t walked regularly, which made him too strong and energetic for his owner to manage. With us, however, Ice has been a typical large dog on leash, strong, yes, but not overly pull-y and very manageable. He walked well for us.

He had a good dog meet at the shelter and did good. Ice was not accustomed to being crated and can be anxious in a crate at home, so a home willing to work with him and offer structure without relying heavily on crating would be ideal.

Ice is looking for a home that understands large, active northern breeds and is ready to give him the exercise, companionship, and love he so clearly craves. In return, he’ll give you endless affection, laughs, and the kind of loyalty only a Malamute can offer.
