Meet Butterscotch, an 8.5 month old tortoiseshell beauty. True to her tortie nature, Butterscotch is on the shy side at first. She isn’t the kind of kitten who rushes into the spotlight — she’s the one who hangs back, observes, and slowly decides when it feels safe to trust. And when she does, it’s incredibly special.

Butterscotch is a sweet girl who simply needs time, patience, and a calm, understanding home. She adores soft head and chin scratches and leans into them once she feels comfortable. As her confidence grows, her playful side starts to peek through too — a toy here, a curious pounce there — gentle reminders that she’s still very much a kitten learning the world. She does well with other cats and dogs and would be ok in a home with children old enough to respect her space and understand that not all cats show love the same way.

Her brothers have already found their forever homes, and now Butterscotch and her sister Caramela are still waiting for their chance. Watching kittens like Butterscotch blossom in the right home is one of the most rewarding parts of rescue. Once submitted, we will reach out to approved applicants by phone. We may also suggest other amazing cats in our care who could be a great fit for your home.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

This cat is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $175 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our cats are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
