Our newest shelter space may still need fresh paint and finishing touches, but for

XENA, it is something far more important — safety.

XENA, our warrior princess, was found on the streets of Rochester. She somehow dodged sub zero temperatures and was left without major harm. Kind people stepped in to foster her so she could get off the streets immediately, and when it was time for her spay, she came to us.

During surgery, our veterinarian discovered that her uterus was filled with pus — a life-threatening infection called pyometra. Without being spayed, XENA would have faced a devastating and likely fatal outcome.

XENA is a gentle, sweet girl who has been around and does well with other cats. She is now ready for her forever home.
Small rescues like ours are often the last safety net for cats like XENA. Even in a space that is still coming together, we open our doors because their lives depend on it.
