Tabby and Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Fish is an adorable 11-month old male kitty who was surrendered by his owner on March 31, 2025.

Fish was originally brought to the HSOV on July 18, 2025 along with his five siblings (Hermit Crab, Reef, Sand Dollar, Seagull, and Snorkel). These little 'Beach Babies' were estimated to have been 8-weeks old at that time. Unfortunately the individual who entrusted them to our care did not provide any information about them.

Fish has a buff-and-white short smooth coat in a tabby pattern,, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful face with bronze/copper-colored eyes, a pink nose, a white muzzle, and long white whiskers.

This little playboy and his brothers/sisters always had sweet, affectionate personalities and were social butterflies.

Fish was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on July 23, 2025. He weighed 2.3 lbs that day. Fish was given booster vaccines on August 1st and August 25th.

Fish was neutered on September 26, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. Naturally we hoped that Fish would be adopted with one of his brothers or sisters.

Update: Fish was adopted on October 19, 2025.

Sadly, Fish was returned to HSOV by his adoptive dad on March 31st 2026 since he alleged that Fish did not get along with his other cat. Fish had always gotten along with his biological brothers/sisters, so we don't know what went wrong .. But Fish is once again looking for the perfect home.

These updated photos of Fish were taken on April 10, 2026 when HSOV Kennel Techs Lauryn Hamilton and Madison Lee spent time with him in our 'studio'. Fish was cute as a tiny kitten, and he has matured into an incredibly handsome young man. Fish was a little in awe of the paparazzi while we snapped his 'big boy' pictures, but he was a happy boy when Lauryn held him in her arms on his back like a very big baby (smile). Fish is still acclimating to being back in a double-wide shelter cage after enjoying a real home for five months~

Fish has not yet jumped on the scales for a weigh-in after he was returned to our shelter. He is a fairly big boy now who likely weighs 9 lbs or more.

Fish would love to find a fabulous home with a special someone.
