POPEYE - SWEET AS PIE

Tabby, Bengal
🇺🇸
South Euclid, Ohio
February 16th
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Popeye was another frequent diner at one of our feedings sites and we were finally able to bring him in. We named him "Popeye" because he has a wonky eye. When we took him in for vetting, they told us he had corneal abrasion that has healed. They couldn't say if his sight was impacted or if so, how much.

Popeye was always a friendly boy from the moment he showed up and loved pets but he is even more so now that he is rescued. He can't stop with the loving. He is still not fully comfortable being held for very long but that may come with time - he just isn't used to it and jumps down but he isn't rude about it. He has probably been on the streets for sometime. That said, he is thriving now that he is living inside and safe from the challenges of street life. He is quite content to live indoors.

He’s a gentle soul, enjoys hanging out with his person, chillin on the sofa. Loves attention. At the feeding site he would sometimes hiss to tell other cats not to eat his food while he was eating, but it didn't go any further. We commonly see this behavior in cats while they are living in colonies, and most often it disappears once they are in a home. He seems fine with the kitty residents at his foster home. His comfort level with dogs is to be determined. He hasn't been around kids in his foster home but we think he would be fine.

He is fully vetted and tested negative for FIV/FELV and estimated to be about 2 years old. Someone suggested he might have some Bengal in him, but those tend to be rare so we don't know. Maybe we'll do a DNA test!

We'll get more photos and a video uploaded soon! The foster home is located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Our goal is to find the best match for our cats and their new families so that everyone lives happily ever after. Post-adoption, we are here if you have questions. Of course, we hope everything works out, but we understand that sometimes the cat may not be a good fit. We will support you through any decision to return your pet to us if it doesn't work out and will take them back into our foster program - no worries.

Please email us at fosterparentsforpooches@gmail.com. We typically respond within 24 - 48 hours. Please be patient, we have full-time jobs and are busy with other rescue matters. Thank you!
