These cats have a sad but somewhat hopeful tale to tell...
Five little cats living in the city...
For their lives so far, they were loved and well cared for. Iris and Daisy are senior ladies and also sisters. They lived with their three younger friends Byron, Keats and Shelley and one human who cared for all of them.
Recently, their human passed away and the cats are still very sad and lost without him.
A visit to the vet was done. Iris and Daisy had extensive blood work and physical examination...
The good news? The ladies are very healthy for their age, and do not need any dental work, or medication. They are in the VERY early stages of kidney issues - but at 17 years young, that is definitely to be expected. They are aging with grace and dignity.
The bad news? Iris is completely blind and Daisy has significant vision impairment.
What does that mean for the sisters? It means that they love each other, rely on each other, sleep on top of each other and absolutely need to continue to live together.
They are very sweet. Even though they have been through a lot of scary changes lately, there hasn't been a hiss or a complaint from anyone.
The girls are quiet and very well behaved. Iris keeps her paws on the floor, but Daisy has been seen to jump up onto a better perch so that she can get a good patch of sunlight to warm her fur. They get along very well with their brothers, but also get along very well with the other cats in their foster home.
They need a quiet place together to live out their remaining time.
Despite their age, their bloodwork was awesome and they could have quite a few of those 9 lives still to come.
A quiet home with a human or two, would be just purrfect.
