Chucky, his twin brother Stitch, and their mama Miko were transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. They were rescued from a neglect situation and yes, they are in fact actual Scottish Folds! Chucky is a charming fellow with very strong opinions about human interaction. He can be very friendly and affectionate, but he is easily overstimulated by petting and will definitely swat at you or attempt to bite you if you do not recognize and respect his cues that he is done with you and wants to move on. Which is hard for many people, because Chucky's folded ears and adorable round head make touching him irresistible. Due to his penchant for overstimulation, he is not a good match for children or for adults who want to be able to pet & touch their cat at any time without worrying about the cat getting mad at him. He is a great match for an experienced cat owner who understands cats who get overstimulated and can give Chucky the space he needs to feel comfortable. Chucky was raised with his mother & brother and he is very dominant over both of them. If you have other cats in the home, Chucky is going to want to be in charge of them and he frequently shows his dominance by pinning other cats down & mounting them. This behavior may improve now that Chucky is neutered, but it may be an ingrained, life-long behavior that many cats will not enjoy living with. Please take that into consideration as we want our special boy Chucky to have the most harmonious fur-ever home possible. It's super easy to get blinded by his good looks, so be sure to take a minute and consider Chucky's behaviors when thinking about adding him to your household. He is adorable and can be very sweet when he's in the mood, but he is most definitely a big purrsonality first & foremost!
