Rescued from the streets of Cairo, Egypt, Butter was found emaciated and injured. Thanks to the kindness of a rescuer, he received medical care and lots of love and then made the long journey to Virginia.

A Handsome Boy with a Heart of Gold
Butter is a strikingly beautiful cat with what appears to be Persian lineage. His bright gold eyes radiate warmth and affection, and if you’re not already paying attention to him, don’t be surprised if he reaches out a soft, furry paw to remind you he’s there! With proper nutrition and regular brushing, his luxurious coat will only grow more magnificent. He’ll need regular Persian-type grooming to keep his coat and eyes looking their best.

A Personality Overflowing with Love
Butter is the definition of a lap cat—he adores curling up with his favorite humans and soaking in every bit of affection. He’s gentle, incredibly sweet, and thrives on human connection. At just one year old, he has occasional bursts of playfulness, but is generally low-key, true to his Persian heritage.

Whether you’re working from home, watching a movie, or unwinding after a long day, Butter will be right there with you, ready to keep you company. He enjoys watching nature through the window but doesn’t like being left out of family activities. His ideal home is one where he’s given plenty of lap time, love, and attention.

-A family willing to give lots of lap time and affection
-A home local to the DC metro area or willing to travel to meet him
-A commitment to staying in touch with his Egyptian rescuer, who deeply loves this special boy

His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover his medical care, travel, and supports the dedicated rescuers in Egypt who work tirelessly to save cats like Butter.
