MEET NOLA! Our sweet, dainty, 7 year old Nola values one thing the most in life - peace. She didn't arrive at our shelter due to any fault on her part, but instead because she was being bullied by other animals in her previous home. The Nola we know is a lover not a fighter, so this is no surprise to us. Likely due to her prior experiences with other animals, Nola can be a bit nervous around other kitties and keeps to herself. Some cats demand attention, but Nola only requests love on your terms – when you’re available, she will gladly climb in to your lap and soak up the gentle scratches. Nola doesn’t want the chaos and hassle of being carried around, but rather the peace that comes with a partner to sit with. When she isn’t getting her chin scratched in the lap of a volunteer or staff member, Nola sits quietly in her cat bed, waiting for someone to notice her and smiling at everyone that passes her by (seriously... She smiles. We have photographic evidence.) Nola ended up with us because she was too gentle, so if you’re the quiet, nurturing, “I see the overlooked ones” type, Nola has been waiting her entire life for you! All Adoptions require a Pre-Adoption Interview with a YCAS Adoption Counselor, a meet and greet, and adoption approval. Every adoptable cat is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $77.
