Please don't be alarmed by Karl's recent loss of eye-he is more scared of you than you are of him! (At least until you pet him!) Karl is a senior cat who came from a home with too many cats to care for and is feeling reserved and uncertain during this transition to shelter life. The time he's the happiest is when you give him scratches behind the ear, prompting him to roll over and give lots of head butts. We think Karl will continue to open up and thrive in a quiet, patient home, and become a cat unrecognizable to who is here with the shelter hustle and bustle.
Karl lived with other cats and did fine, but we don't know how he feels about dogs and kids. Karl would likely adjust more quickly to a calmer home, but with time, understanding, and a little extra love, we don't know what he is capable of adjusting to! He has already shown profound resilience in leaving behind the home he's always known and opening up to us here, so we are looking forward to seeing who he becomes when he can begin his best chapter yet.
