Meet Skylar
Skylar is a quiet, sensitive soul who has endured more than her fair share of hardship at a young age. Found abandoned on the streets, unfixed and left to fend for herself, she quickly learned that the world could be a frightening place--especially when the humans she turned to were not kind.
Because of this, Skylar is understandably cautious and untrusting of people. She lives by a simple rule: "You don't touch me, and I won't touch you." She will need a very patient, understanding home that respects her boundaries and allows her to build trust at her own pace.
But while humans may still be a mystery to her, Skylar's heart shines brightly when it comes to other cats. She absolutely loves feline companionship. When Statshu returned from a stressful home, it was Skylar who comforted him--grooming him, snuggling close, and offering the kind of quiet support only another cat can give. Night after night, she showed him safety, warmth, and friendship.
Skylar is still young, and there is hope that with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she may continue to come out of her shell. Playtime may be the key to unlocking her confidence and helping her form a bond with her person.
She would do best in a calm home with other friendly cats and a caregiver who understands that love doesn't always look like cuddles--it can be quiet, respectful, and built over time.

A cat's behavior in the shelter may not be what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat. Most often, in a home, they thrive!

Kitten Policy: Kittens must be able to socialize with other young cats or dogs as playmates, as it is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens ​and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.

Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit.
