Two year old Shirley was rescued off the streets since November of 2023. She had a litter of kittens and they have all been adopted, leaving Shirley alone. She was surrendered to us and her days of having litters of kittens is over. Shirley is fearful but likes being petted when approached slowly. She would love a quiet home of her where she can grow more confident around her human family. She is a sweet girl and likes other cats. Shirley may do well with another cat who can show her the ropes of being a family pet. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home!

A cat's behavior in the shelter may not be what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat. Most often, in a home, they thrive!
Kitten Policy: Kittens must be able to socialize with other young cats or dogs as playmates, as it is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.
Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit.
If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/
