Meet Kiki! If you are looking for a kitten who defines the word "special," look no further than our darling Kiki. This adorable gray bundle of joy has been through quite a journey since arriving in our care back in August 2025 with his mama and siblings. Kiki is an absolute resilient soul, but he does come with a very unique look that sets him apart from the crowd. Since he was a tiny sprout, the nasal bone between his eyes has been widening, which is noticeable when you look at him. We have been working closely with our medical team and veterinarians and running a battery of tests to get to the bottom of it, but so far, Kiki's case remains a bit of a mystery. Because of this structural change, Kiki is constantly a little "stuffy"-you'll often hear his cute, snuffly breathing as he navigates his day-but he doesn't let a congested nose slow down his zest for life!
Despite his medical mystery, Kiki's personality is 100% pure kitten magic. He is quite possibly the most affectionate kitty we have ever encountered; he doesn't just settle for a quick pet, he actually reaches out to give genuine hugs, wrapping himself into your arms to be as close to you as possible. When he isn't busy being a world-class snuggler, he is a whirlwind of playful energy, chasing toys and pouncing on shadows with his signature "stuffy" enthusiasm. Between 6 months and a year old, he is at that perfect age where he is full of curiosity but also deeply devoted to his favorite humans.
Because we are still seeking answers regarding his nasal bone and respiratory stuffiness, we are looking for a very special hero for Kiki. He is currently available for a Foster-to-Adopt situation, which allows him to move into your home and start his life as your companion while the shelter continues to cover and conduct his diagnostic testing. Alternatively, if a family falls head-over-heels and wishes to take over his future specialist care and testing themselves, we are absolutely open to a direct adoption. Kiki has been waiting since last summer for a place to truly belong. He doesn't need a medical diagnosis to know he's a good boy-he just needs a lap to curl up in and a human to love him, snuffles and all.
Kiki is neutered, up-to-date on his FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations, and he is FIV and FeLV negative.
Kiki is currently staying onsite at our Heartland Facility! Stop by during our open hours on Thursday 4pm-7pm, Friday 4pm-7pm, Saturday Noon-6pm or Sunday Noon-6pm to meet him! No appointment necessary.
