This breathtaking black-and-white icon is Bastet, named appropriately because she is, in fact, a goddess. The fourth kitty from her former household, Bastet is settling in beautifully and making it very clear that she expects reverence, routine, and refreshments.

While other cats sleep in the bed like peasants, Bastet chose a strategic bench near the bed — close enough to monitor activities, far enough to maintain dominance. She sees all. She judges quietly.

Bastet is politely but persistently chatty, delivering soft meows that translate to:

* “I need more food.”
* “I just ate but I need more food.”
* “This isn’t about food, I require attention.”
* “Why are you still standing?”
