Meet Luna – A Brave, Beautiful Soul Looking for Peace
Black cat • Female • 1.5 years old • Special needs (blind)
Luna’s story is nothing short of remarkable. She came to KFM Rescue in October 2024 as one of eight cats relocated from a feral colony site that became unsafe due to construction. Luna was just four months old—born blind due to a congenital condition where her eyes never fully developed. She arrived sick, in pain, and understandably... a little spicy.
She was also battling a severe upper respiratory infection, one of her eyelids was growing painfully inward, and she had every reason to distrust the world. After undergoing corrective surgery (including the removal of one eye), Luna remained guarded. Her pain was finally gone, but her trust had yet to be built.
Fast forward to today: One year post-surgery, Luna is a completely different cat.
Her personality has softened into something truly beautiful—quiet, kind, observant. She is no longer angry or afraid. But the busy rescue environment is still overwhelming for her, and she mostly keeps to herself. What she needs now is not another treatment or fix—it’s a real home, one filled with calm, love, and stability.
Luna's Ideal Home
Luna is blind, but she navigates with grace using her other senses—especially smell. She is fully litter box trained, uses her nose to find her food, treats, and you, and simply asks for a space that doesn’t change too often.
Her perfect home will offer:
Single-story layout (no stairs)
A calm, quiet room to settle in at her own pace
Minimal furniture rearranging
A gentle companion (one calm cat or a respectful dog is okay)
Respectful kids welcome, if they understand her boundaries
Required: Adopter must be located within 100 miles of Visalia, CA
She knows her name—Luna—and she will need to keep it. After all, it’s part of the only stability she’s ever known.
What Luna Needs from You
Patience. Understanding. A willingness to let her settle in on her time, not yours.
Luna may never be a lap cat. She may never seek out constant affection. But she is worthy of love, comfort, and a home that will meet her where she is.
If you believe that every cat deserves a chance, especially the ones who’ve had to fight so hard to survive, then Luna might be the one who’s been waiting for you all along.
Apply to adopt Luna and give her the peaceful life she’s always deserved.
