Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

Little Sherman, a white and black male kitten, was found and never claimed. He was born in August 2025.
He is quiet until meal time when he lets you know you aren’t moving fast enough. He is kitten-active and easy-going. Sherman is friendly with trusted folks and initially hesitant around strangers. He will be at the door waiting for you and rubs against your legs. Periodically he reaches up desiring to be picked up and held upright. While there, he reaches to touch your nose.

When sitting Sherman jumps into your lap or will let you place him there. He enjoys brushing and petting and will stay in your lap for short sessions of that. He plays interactively with wand toys or by himself with cat toys. Sherman tolerates the foster family’s active dog. He hasn’t met kids, but if they are gentle, he should be okay with them. He uses a scratching post and has fine litterbox habits. Siblings are available.

This cat and others are available at Cat Tales Rescue. Cats have been vet checked, spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for FIV/FeLV, have distemper and rabies shots. Adoption fees are $200+tax, and for cats age 6+ the fee is $175+tax. Calicos and Siamese are $250+tx. If you are gone 7 or more hours a day, please consider adopting two cats, as one cat usually gets bored. Two cats are easier to care for than one (they self-entertain while you are at work), and they are emotionally healthier (don’t get lonely and bored).
