Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption

MILAN

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Tioga, Pennsylvania
March 17th
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Just like the winter games he's named for, MILAN is larger than life. In fact, his noggin is about the size of an Olympic ring! This guy is a hard-headed, puffy-cheeked former Tom cat complete with a social personality, sweet demeanor, grateful attitude and chill vibe. We estimate he's 5-6 years old, and came to us with Cortina, a pretty younger tabby girl who he was living with outside. Taking either of them home would be better than any gold medal!

Milan is curious about you the second you enter his room. If you coax him in with some chin scritches, he melts into a puddle of mush, rolls on his back, leans into you, and rests that gigantic head on your leg. He is training to compete as snuggliest lap cat in the next winter games, so he's looking for a family to help make his dream come true. Milan gets along with other cats and should be just fine with a dog with proper introductions. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Milan is so extra that he's positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which attacks white blood cells and weakens the immune system over time. But, with proper care like regular vet visits, good diet, stress reduction (like any cat should have, really), FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives! FIV spreads through deep bite wounds or cuts, often from cats fighting agressively (such as unneutered males living outside). It can't spread through mutual grooming, sharing food or water bowls or other normal cat-to-cat contact. It can't infect other animals or humans. Milan hopes this doesn't deter anyone from choosing him, because it's impossible not to fall in love with this sweet chonk.
