Meet Clover, a unique white & gray kitty with a hint of tabby markings and patches of gray and pink on his nose. Life started out a bit rough for this sweet boy. He originally came from a litter of farm kittens and was brought to United Paws when he failed to thrive. With good nutrition and loving care, Clover is healthy, strong, and ready for his forever home.
He was first described by his foster as a total “lap kitty” but Clover has developed a bit more shyness in his foster community. He has become more of a “watcher,” but when he feels safe, he will climb up next to the nearest lap for scratches and loves. His potential adopter should be someone who can be patient with Clover as he gets to know his environment and the people in it. If he is allowed to engage on “his terms,” this watchfulness and shyness will diminish and he will confidently take his place as one of the family.
Clover’s foster describes him as “curious,” and “independent” but playful. He loves to play hide and seek in his kitty tunnels and will chase anything dangling from a wand!! He gets along well with other cats but often hangs back, watching the action, before deciding to jump in. He will do well with a younger cat or kitten but he would also be perfectly fine as the sole “king of his castle”. He can be a little nervous when there is commotion or loud noises and will likely need a slow introduction to a friendly dog or energetic children.
When asked what kind of fairy tale character Clover might be best compared to, the foster thought he was like a tortoise (from “The Tortoise and the Hare” fable). A bit slow to warm up, staying close to his “shell,” but once feeling secure, he will be a steady force and will be ready to race against any rabbit!!
Clover is a good eater! Although he nibbles at wet food, he really enjoys his crunchy bites. He always uses his litter box. For someone who has patience and understanding of how rough beginnings can often create a need for safety, Clover will reward you with love, devotion, companionship, and lots of loud purrs. Would you like to be the one?
