Tonya was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee. She is a super sweet lady but the hustle & bustle of shelter life has been a bit much for her, so she spends a lot of her time hiding. When a human sits with her & talks gently in quiet tone, Tonya has been known to emerge from hiding to get attention. It is very clear that she would love to make a connection with a person and we believe that once she's in a calmer environment, she'll start to show off her true purrsonality. She would probably not be a great match for younger children since they may find it hard to approach a cat quietly, but older kids or anyone who is willing to take the time to befriend Tonya & give her the type of attention she has been longing for will be an excellent match!
