Blackie was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee. This magnificent boy was brought to our rescue partner's shelter after his beloved owner passed away. Blackie was obviously very loved by his dad, & you can tell that he misses having a special person. Despite his grief, Blackie makes an effort to befriend the humans he encounters - he is friendly, social, and SO VERY SWEET. He is a huge fan of cuddling and being close to people, but he dislikes being picked up & will attempt to ride on your back like a backpack in an effort to get more comfortable with the whole "being carried" thing. He may dislike being carried, but he LOVES getting attention - Blackie is not afraid to head butt you to ask for more pets, and his loud rumbly purr is very soothing.
