Meet Homer 🐾
Homer is a sweet, resilient young guy who’s about 2 years old and has been in rescue since he was just 2½ months old. His journey began before he was even born — his mama cat belonged to neighbors who were struggling, and she would come by each night looking for food. In time, she learned she could trust kindness, and one day she brought her kittens over to safety.
Homer and his sister, Prairie, were two of those kittens. Sadly, their other sibling didn’t make it into rescue, which makes Homer’s story all the more special. He’s a little survivor with a big heart.
Having grown up in foster care, Homer is well-socialized and used to being around people. He’s gentle, thoughtful, and has a quiet charm that wins you over once you get to know him. He may not demand attention right away, but he will when ges comfortablewhen he chooses you, it means everything.
Homer is ready for a forever home where he can finally settle in, feel safe, and be loved the way he always deserved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a meaningful story and a tender soul, Homer just might be your guy.

All Second Chance Kitty cats are free fed a quality dry food with low or no grain and are STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less financial burdens at veterinary offices when they are kept indoor only. There are so many predators out there, both human and animal and it is sadly unsafe to let them roam unattended. All of our babes come altered, microchipped, vaccinated, rabies (if age appropriate), FeLV/FIV negative, dewormed, flea treated, litter box trained and full of love. Our adoption fees are a minimum $150 donation. Anything beyond $150 helps rescue another babe. Adoption isn’t an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Owning a cat is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford a cat? If we’re renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if the kitty becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Kitty requires routine check-ups, annual vaccines, quality food, litter and toys, can we afford this? These are all questions a responsible pet owner must ask themselves. If you can make this type of commitment please take a moment and visit our website at www.secondchancekitty.org to submit an application. Second Chance Kitty is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting cats, kittens and an occasional dog, escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect.
